SCHOOL POLICIES

Self-discipline is the forte of the school. The school begins at 9:00 am for the students. All students are expected to reach school before the bell rings. After 8:45 am the school gates will be closed. Late coming of any students will not be permitted. Students should maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the school campus. Littering is prohibited. Students should observe polite civil behavior. Ragging, Screaming, or use of unparliamentary language is forbidden. IDPS constitutes a family of students from various communities, religious and linguistic groups. The medium of instruction and communication is English on the school campus and bus. Office instruction language will be English / Hindi / Telugu. The school is not responsible for any loss of students’ belongings on the premises. Under no pretext should a student miss any teaching/ games/ activity period. Students should not leave the premises during the school working hours.

CODE OF CONDUCT

We expect our students to maintain high standards of personal conduct. This includes honesty discipline, integrity, humility, ethics, and values. Students are accountable to the school authorities for their conduct on the school premises, their general behavior outside, while on the school transport, and at all school-approved events or activities. Any objectionable conduct on the part of the student will lead to commensurate consequences, at the discretion of the principal, whose decisions on such matters are final.

The following undesirable behavior/ repeated discipline will lead to serious consequences.


•Damaging school furniture, fixtures/ building or belonging.
• Graffiti on the walls/ school furniture/ library books.
•Obscenity in the use of words or acts and indulging in uncivilized behaviour.
• Irregular attendance.
• Scribbling or writing anything on the school uniform.
• Bullying, gossiping, playing pranks or using any form of physical/emotional against a fellow student.
• Insubordination to any member of the staff inside or outside the school.
• Using unfair means during a test/ examination.
• Indulging in any misbehavior/ misdeed directly or online this could be derogatory to the institution or any person.
• The school diary has to be monitored and signed by the parent on daily basis.
• The child has to follow a study hour pattern at home as recommended by the school.
• All children are expected to attend school on the opening day after every vacation. Students must complete 75% attendance in the year to make them eligible for the final assessments. In case attendance is short, the student will not be eligible for any academic prize

GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

1. Parents are requested to read the contents of the school Almanac carefully and in the interest of the child abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the school.
2. Parents are requested to send the perforated sheet (Student’s Record) duly filled and signed to the class teacher.
3. Closely monitor the child’s progress by checking the school almanac every day and paying attention to his/her punctuality, discipline and submission of school assignments.
4. Parents are requested to use the space provided in the almanac for any communication with the teachers/school.
5. Encourage the child to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
6. Inform the school if there is any change in address, telephone numbers and bus route.
7. Ensure that the child does not bring expensive items, electronic gadgets or large sums of money to school. The school bag should be randomly checked to ensure the same.
8. Restrict pocket money.
9. Explain to the child the need to look after his/her belongings. The school does not accept responsibility for any item lost in school.
10. Ensure that the child is in proper school uniform. No fancy jewelry like bangles, anklets, big fancy earrings, nose rings, bracelets, flowers and fancy clips should be worn by the child.
11. Support and cooperate with the school authorities in enforcing discipline by making sure that the child attends school regularly, does the assignments, devotes sufficient time to reading and revising the lessons at home and taking an interest in all the activities of the school.
12. As per the school policies if a child wants to take leave under urgent circumstances he/she must seek written permission from the principal and inform the bus in charge. In a term, only three days leave will be sanctioned.
13. In case of leave of more than two days parents need to inform school authorities in advance. It will be the parent’s responsibility to ensure during the child’s absence from school, work done in the class is made up to date.
14. Be formally dressed when you are on the school premises.
15. Cell phones are strictly not permitted within the school premises. (Statutory provision).
16. Provide a supportive value-based environment to the ward at home. Using discretion and parental
judgment keep track of the child’s mental health and emotions.
17. Monitor the internet sites being visited by their ward and limit television viewing to appropriate programs.
18. Changes in the C.W. (Classwork) and H.W. (Homework) notebooks are not allowed. The notebooks and report cards must be signed in blue pen only.
19. Parents must not do any changes to the school C.W., H.W. and Assignment paper. Sign in blue ink in all the reports, notices and class work/ books of the child when required to do so.
20. Avoid any kind of criticism of the child’s teacher or the school in his/her presence as they lose respect for their teachers and consequently fail to learn from them.

Attendance and Regularity

1. All students must be present on the re-opening day and closing day of each term.

2. The names of the students who are absent on these days will be struck off the rolls and the parents will have to seek re- admission for their children if they want them to continue in the school.

3. The principal must be informed in writing when the student returns to school after being absent even for a single day.

4. The parents must state the reason for her/ his absence in the absence record of the school diary. Such students who are absent for three days or more without intimation will have their names struck off the rolls and may not be re-admitted.

5. Students who are ill on the day of exam are advised to come to school only if they can stay for the entire duration of the morning or the afternoon session.

6. Once the students are in school they are required to stay for the full length of the school day.

7. Students are not permitted to arrive or leave in between morning/ afternoon sessions. In case of any emergency, parents are required to call up the school and inform the absence of their child and follow it up with a written leave letter.

Uniform

Boys are not permitted to:

• Have long side burns, long hair, streaked hair and fancy hair styles.
• Wear bands/ bracelets/ chains/ earnings.


Girls are not permitted to:

• Have streaked hair, fancy hair styles, leave shoulder length or long hair untied.
• Wear eye makeup and more than one ear piercing.
• Wear Gold / Diamond earrings, bangles and chains, colourful and fancy jewellery, long earrings.
•Adorn their hair with flowers or colourful clips, paint their nails or apply mehendi.

1. All students must be neatly dressed in full school uniform whenever they are on the school premises.
2. Students are required to wear house uniforms on Wednesday and Saturday.
3. Boys should wear vests and girls should wear slips and cycling shorts.
4. Colour clothes and fancy expensive footwear are not allowed.
5. Fancy or expensive watches, colourful jerkins or different shades of contact lenses and trolley bags are not permitted.
